A new season begins
Now into the first week of the 25/26 jumps season, it’s an exciting time of year with new targets, new horses and big hopes for the season ahead.
We are proud of how last season panned out, finishing on 29 winners - our second best ever season numerically. The year delivered many highlights, but from a training perspective it was rewarding to see the Winners coming in consistently all year round - including many throughout the Summer, which we hope to replicate this time around.

As with any season, it wasn’t without its challenges, on a personal and professional level. To achieve our second best ever season numerically whilst the family continue fighting the battle of their lives with Betsy, shows the immense value of our dedicated team of staff, owners and closest supporters, this cannot be underestimated.
The results are testament to our staff, who stepped up without hesitation and not only kept the show on the road, but went above and beyond to keep pushing and achieving. A special mention to Nicky, Ellie, Harriet & Jack.
We are proud of all of them.
Thank you also to our owners for their continued loyalty and friendship.
We are confident the years ahead will be bigger and better than ever.
We started the new season back to zero, but not for long as Side Stepper quickly got us off the mark - winning at Uttoxeter under a usual well judged Jack Tudor ride for Sue & Mark. We love training a winner in these colours and look forward to plenty more during the season ahead.
We have been amazed by the popularity of our “Stepping Stones Syndicate,” launched only a few weeks ago. Our first horse “Bombay Pete,” sold out in around a fortnight and our next horse has just been launched - an exciting unnamed 3YO by Nathaniel x Lifeboat Mona. He is a lovely, classy type who has impressed us in all his work so far - Christian, Jack & Nicky all think a lot of him.
Members will have the chance to name him, visit our unique training operation, receive regular updates from Christian and our team, and come racing with us.
Shares are from 5% - for more details email megan@christianwilliamsracing.com.
5% shares available in this lovely 3YO Nathaniel x Lifeboat Mona.
Following the success of the “Stepping Stones Syndicate,” we have also decided to launch “The Christian Williams Racing Club,” an initiative aimed at giving more people the chance to experience racehorse ownership but for a fraction of the cost. This works differently to the syndicates, as the club will lease horses from CWR, rather than each person owning a share - but members will receive the same benefits of stable visits, days at the races and regular communication from Christian and our team. We aim to have two horses in the club at any time (although this may vary) and the horses will be announced on 1st June, in line with the commencement of the club.
Memberships are for a 12 month period - £300 up front for the year or £30 paid monthly.
To register your interest please email megan@christianwilliamsracing.com
We continue to be busy with regular runners and Christian is always on the look out for new stock - attending all the sales as well as viewing horses privately. We were delighted to secure 5 exciting new horses privately last week…
PAPPARICHE - A fine good looking daughter of top sire Mahler. She is the winner of her Maiden PTP for leading handler Donnchadh Doyle and she was also placed second in winners company beaten just 1/2 length on her second start. A fine scopey mare who will make into a lovely chaser in time.
KOALYS DUBREAU - A gorgeous son of Brave Mansonnien. He ran behind the highly regarded Vanderflier on his debut in a very strong Maiden PTP at Belharbour who sold for £155,000 to Jonjo O’Neill. On his second start he was beaten only a length staying on very strongly to the line. He will make into a very high class chaser under rules.
CAN U FEEL IT - A 4YO son of the great Yeats, he’s shown promise in his two starts to date in Irish points. On his latest start he ran a huge race staying on into a close 4th behind Crystal Island who subsequently sold for £205,000 to Nicky Henderson. He looks a strong stayer to go to war with under rules.
MANNERS MATTER - This well named individual hails from the top nursery of Pat Doyle’s Suirview Stables who is renowned for selling top class performers. He was second on his debut and looks the one to take from the race having travelled so well in the 5yo Maiden at Rathcannon. Totally unexposed this 5yo son of Mahler could be anything under rules.
VALE OF TEARS - A daughter of Mahler with a nice pedigree who shaped with a degree of promise on her only start in her Maiden PTP at the renowned Loughanmore when finishing an eye catching 4th behind Lennon Grove. She hit the front at the second last but got run out of it close home. She looks the type to take a huge step forward when sent under rules.
We’re only a couple of weeks away from the popular Goffs Store & HIT Sale where Christian will be hoping to add a few more recruits to the team - as always if you would like to get involved, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Christian beforehand on 07702 896759.
Our next runner will be Cave Article at Warwick on Saturday for the Coral Racing Club, followed by a few entries at Southwell on Monday, Worcester on Tuesday and Newton Abbot on Wednesday - it’s all go!
And finally, it will be a weekend of celebrations for Christian, Charlotte, Tilly & Betsy and their family, as Betsy has her final chemotherapy on Saturday and will ring the bell in the coming weeks. After over two years of gruelling treatment, the end is finally in sight.
That’s all for now.
Join our Racing Club!
Following the massive success of our “Stepping Stones Syndicate,” we have decided to launch “The Christian Williams Racing Club” with the aim of giving more people the opportunity to experience racehorse ownership for a fraction of the cost.
The Racing Club will give members the chance to visit our unique training operation, based on the beautiful coast in South Wales. Watch how we train our horses utilising the natural facilities on our doorstep, including beaches, sand dunes, seas and rivers surrounding the yard. Members will receive regular, high quality updates from Christian and our team, as well as the chance to come racing when the club horse(s) run.
We aim to have two horses in the Racing Club at all times (although this may vary) and these will be announced on 1st June 2025 inline with the commencement of the Racing Club.

Tuesday Night Fever
It was wonderful to see Fever Dream get off the mark over fences on Tuesday, winning cosily under Jack Tudor for Owners Bedford, Noel & The Can’t Say No Partnership. He had undergone wind surgery since last seen and it looks to have worked a treat, giving him the confidence to finish his race, and jumping well throughout. We hope he can continue to progress from here, and there were extra kisses from his biggest fan last night!
Tilly and her favourite horse, Fever Dream.
We head to Cheltenham today with Planned Paradise. Rarely out of the frame, he’s been a great fun horse for his owners “The Paradise Mob,” including winning a nice pot at Windsor in January. He’ll be suited by the track having finished 3rd here at the November Meeting and hope he runs another good race this afternoon.
Long may this continue…
We were delighted to secure a 1-2 at Hereford this afternoon with Cave Article winning for The Coral Racing Club under Charlie Maggs, and Side Stepper in 2nd for Sue Howell.
Given a patient and well judged ride by Charlie, Cave Article jumped and travelled well into the race, perhaps aided by the addition of cheekpieces and importantly not hitting the front too soon. He hasn’t been out of the frame in all 5 starts over fences, this his second win of the campaign following his first win at Sedgefield in December and we hope he can continue to progress.
We’re delighted for The Coral Racing Club, and hope all members who attended had a great day. Well done to all our team, long may the good form continue.
A quiet few days for us now on the racing front but as always lots going on at home to keep us busy. It’s a shame to be sitting Ayr out this year but we hope to be back with a strong team next year. Our next entries are at Southwell on Tuesday before Planned Paradise heads to Cheltenham on Wednesday which we’re all looking forward to.
We’re delighted all shares in Bombay Pete are now SOLD OUT. We have another exciting syndicate horse ready to launch next week - to be first to hear details please email megan@christianwilliamsracing.com

Unspeakable gets his day in the sun
He’d been knocking on the door for a little while but Unspeakable got his day in the sun at Taunton this afternoon for Owners The Unspeakable Twelve, a syndicate which is headed by long standing supporter John Stanaway.
We gave Unspeakable a small break just to freshen him up at the start of the year, he perhaps needed the run the last day but has built on this and loved it out there today, jumping well and winning cosily under Jack Tudor.
With the yard in such good form we hope he can continue to progress from this first chasing success.
Very well done to The Unspeakable Twelve and all the team at home.
A special day at Aintree
Aintree is such a special place, and we have enjoyed so many days there over the years. Not least having Kitty’s Light finish 5th in the big one last year surrounded by family and friends, it’s hard to put into words how much we cherish these memories.
This year was no different with Deep Cave getting up close home to take the opener, under another strong and perfectly timed ride by Jack Tudor. No runners at Cheltenham and only one at Aintree, but we like to make them count.
We were delighted to be sent Deep Cave at the end of last year by Owner Caolan Woods on the recommendation of Daniel Cooper. A gorgeous looking horse who has thrived in our training regime, we gave him a small break to freshen him up and targeted yesterdays race so to see it come off is wonderful. He will be very special over fences next year.
Congratulations to all of my team, especially Ella who rides him at home, and Best Turned Out for John too - he looked a million dollars and I am a very proud trainer.
Thank you to all at Aintree for looking after us superbly, we’re already looking forward to being back next year.
Own a runner on Scottish Grand National Day…
We are down to the last remaining shares in the exciting "Bombay Pete."
"Bombay Pete" is a very exciting recruit from Irish point to point fields - he was set to finish 3rd in his only point start, when falling at the last. The point form looks strong, with the Winner selling for £85k, and the second horse for £165k at the Cheltenham Sale - we were delighted to secure Bombay Pete for £35k!
He is a 4yo son of "Pether's Moon" and out of the talented mare "Princess Pauline."
Pete has settled well into our routine, and we couldn't be happier with him.
We are aiming to make a start with him in the bumper at Ayr on Scottish Grand National Day - 12th April - which has always been a lucky meeting for us. He is taking everything in his stride and we can't wait to get started with him!
The syndicate is made up of 20 shares, and only 3 SHARES REMAIN.
Syndicate Owners have the chance to attend stable visits to our beautiful and unique training operation (first date being organised as we speak,) days at the races, and regular updates from Christian and our team of the absolute highest quality. Meet like minded people and be part of our team.
Initial share price of £1750, plus training fees of £1800 upfront for the year or £180 paid monthly - per 5%.
All Owners receive their share of prize money.
These final shares won't last long...
The lows and highs
We are absolutely gutted to share the news we lost Stringtoyourbow at Southwell this afternoon.
A kind, talented, lovely and happy horse, who we had the pleasure of training for his whole racing career. He had become part of the furniture here at Ogmore, easily recognisable and a friend to all.
String gave us and his Owners - Ian Attwood, Adrian Gillman, James Simpson Daniel and Martin & Charlie St Quinton - some very memorable days, none more so than kicking off a special weekend at Ayr’s Scottish Grand National meeting in 2022, and more recently our first runner and Winner at Musselburgh in December.
No one knew String better than Lauren, together they had formed a wonderful friendship and she would beam ear to ear riding him everyday.
We will all miss him very much.
String and his best friend, Lauren.
Later on the card Faded Fantasy did his best to pick us all up, winning nicely under Jack for Owners Sue & Mark - and training a winner in these colours always makes us smile. Congratulations to them and all our team.
Tomorrow is a new day.
Launch of The Stepping Stones Syndicate
We are thrilled to launch "The Stepping Stones Syndicate," and introduce our first horse!
The syndicate name originates from the stepping stones situated across Ogmore River, which are just behind the yard and Ogmore Castle. We wanted a name which linked the yard's location with the unique methods of training here at Christian Williams Racing. The horses paddle alongside the stepping stones everyday, so it seems rather fitting that the syndicate will carry this name.
The first horse to come into the syndicate is "Bombay Pete," an exciting new arrival from the Irish point-to-point fields.
A 4yo son of "Pether's Moon," he was previously based with leading handler Cormac Doyle and was set to finish third in a competitive Lisronagh point-to-point in February only to suffer a fall at the final fence.
Pete is out of the talented mare "Princess Pauline" and by the classy sire "Pether's Moon" who has quickly established himself as a ready source of Winners, and Bombay Pete is yet another highly promising youngster for the sire.
Christian has had a busy couple of weeks inspecting horses, looking for something with promise and ability, as well as suitability for the syndicate - but Bombay Pete really stood out as a cut above the rest, and Christian believes he could have a big future ahead of him.
The plan going forwards will be to let Pete settle into our routine and hopefully run in a bumper or maiden hurdle in 4-5 weeks, depending on how he progresses. You will see from the photo above he has a bit of strengthening and filling into his frame to do, but this will all come in time and we're really looking forward to making a start with him, and sharing his journey with you.
Costs to join the syndicate are as follows (per 5% share:)
An initial share price of £1750 to buy the horse.
plus
Training fees of £1800 upfront for the year OR £180 paid monthly.
All Owners receive their share of prize money at the end of the term.
Syndicate owners will receive regular photo and videos of the highest quality as well as detailed and informative updates from Christian and our team on Pete's progress. All owners will be invited to participate in a WhatsApp group with all other owners, Christian and syndicators. Come racing with us and enjoy stable visits to our beautiful and unique training operation!
Below are our new syndicate colours - of course symbolising our Welsh flag! We hope they will be seen plenty in the Winners enclosure over the coming years and be linked to success.
This is a real opportunity to get involved in a lovely young horse with a promising future.
We will be more than happy to answer any queries you may have - please direct them to megan@christianwilliamsracing.com
Shares will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
Please email megan@christianwilliamsracing to confirm your place and receive a copy of our contract.
A signed contract and payment will be required to secure your share.

Back to back wins for You Say Nothing
Following his impressive victory at Lingfield two weeks ago, You Say Nothing continues in fine form as he scores again at Leicester this afternoon under Sam Twiston - Davies.
Congratulations to long standing Owners Cheifs and a Dragon and our hard working team at home.
No runners tomorrow but we head to Warwick on Sunday with two newer recruits from the Irish point to point field making their rules debut in the Novice Hurdle - Dixie Mafia for Encore Racing and House of Habsburg for Whites Property Limited, we look forward to making a start with both of them. And our old favourite Cap du Nord also runs in the 3m 5f Handicap Chase.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
The first newsletter…
Welcome to a new edition of news articles from Christian Williams Racing. We hope you will enjoy catching up on all our latest news, from on and off the track.
We have had a wonderful start to 2025, the horses continue in good form and as the weather starts to turn we look forward to Spring targets.
THE YEAR SO FAR
Prince Cleni got the ball rolling on New Years Day, winning at Southwell under Adam Wedge for the small syndicate of "Daffodil Racing."
Planned Paradise picked up a healthy prize at Windsor on the 19th January on ITV for Owners “The Paradise Mob,” and a day later Always Busy scored impressively at Warwick for George Moore and family.

Into February and Rule Me In brought up 50 winners for the season for Jack Tudor whilst making a promising start under rules to win at Southwell for long standing Owners Sue & Mark.
Christian & Clive with Rule Me in
And most recently a wonderful double at Lingfield courtesy of Last Rodeo for Alan Rogers, and You Say Nothing for owners Cheifs and A Dragon.
And not forgetting many placed efforts amongst them - long may the good form continue.
The weather has just started to turn the last few days and the horses (and staff) have all enjoyed getting some sun on their backs. We’re fortunate with the paddocks being sand based we can turn horses out all year round but it certainly makes life that little bit easier when the sun is shining, and the horses have a real spring in their step.

A NEW SYNDICATE
We’re very excited to launch ‘The Stepping Stones’ syndicate - the first in house syndicate at Christian Williams Racing. It consists of 20 shares and is a wonderful way to get involved in ownership and be part of our yard without a significant investment. This is a real opportunity to get involved in a lovely young horse - full details released at the end of the week so keep your eyes peeled or email megan@christianwilliamsracing.com to be first to hear!
The Ogmore Stepping Stones - which inspired our new syndicate name!
As always Christian will be busy at all the upcoming sales as well as looking to source horses privately from Irish point to points - if you are interested in new purchases please get in touch with him directly 07702 896759.
LOOKING AHEAD
