Exciting times ahead…

The pre season build up is in full swing, with all the jumpers back in and cantering away, new horses arriving all the time and various events taking place at the yard.

We thoroughly enjoyed hosting our first Owners Day a fortnight ago, with a crowd of around 200, the sun shone and we all enjoyed catching up and discussing plans for next season.

This week we celebrated National Racehorse Week, with a public open day on Tuesday. It was great to get 300+ people through the doors to give them an insight into our unique and beautiful training regime - including watching horses on the beach and in the river, getting to meet horses in the barn, and then a parade. Josh Stacey jumped on the mic alongside Christian & Jack, and gave an insightful account of the way we train, as well as some horses to follow for the season ahead. Many thanks to all our team and wider helpers for pulling off these two events - it takes a lot of hard work and organisation, we couldn’t do it without them!

Finding the next stars is a constant challenge for Christian and our agents, who continue to be at every sale across UK, France & Ireland - as well as visiting breeders / handlers and making private sales. We are delighted with the strong team of three-year-old prospects we’ve managed to assemble this year - there is no doubt the horses for the season ahead are our biggest and most exciting team yet.

As we head into the new season we’re delighted to add another exciting recruit to The Stepping Stones Syndicate - the lovely Vale of Tears.

She is a 4yo daughter of Mahler who made an eye catching debut on her only point-to-point start in Ireland. She has been with us for a couple of months, having had a few weeks at grass to fill out, she has now settled beautifully into our routine. This filly has done everything very nicely so far and we think she’ll be very exciting under rules.

She is offered at shares from 5% through our very own Stepping Stones Syndicate, where owners can expect:

  • Regular, professional updates from Christian & Meg through a WhatsApp group.

  • Stable visits to our beautiful and unique training operation.

  • Days out at the races with us when the horse runs.

  • All Owners receive their share of prize money.

There are also a small number of exciting types on our Horses For Sale page, for more information on them or ownership options, please email megan@christianwilliamsracing.com

We sadly said goodbye to Harriet Tudor this week, who is spreading her wings and heading to university. Despite being sad to see her go, we are immensely proud of all she has achieved. A hard working, kind & talented individual who has been an integral part of our business for the last 6 years. Along with Jack, they are a credit to their family.

We are delighted to welcome Lee Stephens back to the yard in a senior role. Lee has long been a valued part of our racing family, and was our first member of staff when we first set out training. His return brings a wealth of experience, dedication and positivity - a role model for the younger members of the team, and another reliable right hand man for Christian.

We’re also very proud of Nicky Williams, Christian’s brother, who is now a fully qualified equine dentist. His skill and knowledge have already made a noticeable difference to our horses’ comfort and performance.

Together Lee, Nicky and Ellie lead a strong team of talented, hard working and knowledgeable individuals who we are immensely grateful for. We count ourselves very fortunate to work alongside such gifted equine professionals, whose passion and expertise help us provide every horse with the highest standard of care, day in day out.
